de-slop ("we," "our," or "the extension") is a Chrome extension that helps you rewrite text, draft replies, and get quick answers about web pages. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is handled.

What we collect

• Text you submit for processing. When you select text and ask de-slop to rewrite it (Detox), draft a reply (Roast), or answer a question about a page (Decode), that content is sent to our backend and forwarded to our AI processing partner, Google Gemini, to generate a response. We do not store this text after the response is generated.
• Screenshots (Decode feature). If you use the screenshot option in Decode, a screenshot of the visible page is captured and sent for processing in the same way. It is not stored after the response is generated.
• Account information. If you sign in, we collect your email address, name, and profile picture through Google Sign-In, used only to create and manage your account.
• Subscription and usage data. We track which tier you are on (Free or Pro) and basic usage counts to enforce plan limits. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.

How we use this data

• To generate the rewrite, reply, or answer you requested.
• To authenticate your account and apply the correct plan limits.
• To process subscription payments, through Stripe.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties beyond the processors named below.

Third-party processing

Text and screenshots you submit are processed by Google Gemini solely to generate a response to your request. Account data is stored with Supabase, our backend runs on Vercel, and payments are handled by Stripe. Each provider's own data-handling terms apply to its part of the processing. We do not control third-party retention practices beyond what they publicly state.

Data storage and security

Account data is stored with Supabase. All traffic between the extension, our backend, and these providers is encrypted over HTTPS. We retain account data for as long as your account is active.

Voice and dictation

Dictation is transcribed on your own machine using your browser's built-in speech API. The audio is never uploaded; only the resulting text is processed, and only if you choose to clean it up.

Your choices

• You can use de-slop's core rewriting features without signing in.
• You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing researchpixar@gmail.com.

Children's privacy

de-slop is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the extension evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
